アルテックは1935年、アルヴァ・アアルト、アイノ・アアルト、マイレ・グリクセン、ニルス=グスタフ・ハールの4人の若者により「家具を販売するだけではなく、展示会や啓蒙活動によってモダニズム文化を促進すること」を目的に、ヘルシンキで設立されました。今日、アルテックのコレクションは、フィンランドの巨匠たち、そしてグローバルに活躍する建築家やデザイナーによる家具や照明器具、ホームアクセサリーが揃っています。
