石本　藤雄（Fujiwo Ishimoto）/ デザイナー

石本藤雄は愛媛出身のアーティスト・デザイナーです。1974年から2006年までフィンランドを代表するデザインハウス・マリメッコ社で働いた石本は、様々な技法やスタイルを駆使して数多くのテキスタイルデザインを生み出しました。創意工夫に満ちた400種類以上のデザインは、同社で歴代2位の功績を残し、今なおマリメッコ社の定番デザインの一つとしてリバイバルされています。石本は、1989年からフィンランドの伝統的な製陶所・アラビア社のアート部門にも属し、草花や果物のレリーフを含む表現力豊かな陶芸作品を多数生み出しました。陶芸家としての石本の創作は、日本とフィンランドの自然・風景、四季、色、かたちから影響を受けています。そして、その源には、故郷・愛媛の原風景があります。2020年に半世紀ぶりに故郷に戻った石本は、新しい気持ちを胸に、人々とのつながりを深めながら、創作を続けています。
